Civil Affairs Finalization

On 1-19-2010 we returned to the Changsha Civil Affairs Office to finalize the adoption. Once we signed all the paperwork and paid our fees, Raegan was officially ours in China's eyes. The process was relatively painless with a family picture for their paperwork, an interview with an official, an interview with a notary, and paying our fees for the orphanage donation, notary fees and passport fee. It took us about two hours to finish all this but it went pretty quickly. The kids did great including Raegan. She slept for quite a while. The only thing she had to do was look pretty for our picture and have her footprint stamped alongside our thumbprints. In the afternoon the director from Raegan's orphanage, Pingjiang CWI, met with the parents. He gave us some great information on the girls! Then in the evening we went out to eat at a restaurant with our guide. So far we have all loved the food here in China. We eat at the hotel breakfast buffet in the morning and often go out as a group for dinner in the evening.
