| I am behind, but we got Raegan on Monday morning, 1-18-2010. She was VERY upset and cried almost the entire time we were at the Changsha Civil Affairs Office. She finally fell asleep and when she woke up was a little better. We were only at the Civil Affairs Office for about 20 minutes then headed back to the hotel to bond with our new daughter. We changed her out of the clothes she had on as she was sweating terribly. She had on a sweatsuit that looked about twice as big as she was and a coat with matching leggings. We found out later that at her orphanage it is around 45 degrees inside so this is how they keep the babies warm. She really did well for the rest of the day but during the night she woke up around 11 p.m. and was terribly upset.. She kept crying and really didn't want me or Shawn. Shawn finally got her to sleep around 1 a.m. and she slept for the rest of the night. All day she ate well for us and slept well, so we don't have to worry about that. The rest of the babies are doing pretty well, some better than others. It was hard when we couldn't comfort Raegan and I know the other parents are frustrated just like us when they can't calm their babies. |
